Box Car Train

Materials Needed:
4 or 5 Medium size cardboard boxes (with tops cut off)
Objects to sort into the box cars
Markers/crayons

What to Do:
Using the markers, draw a picture of an engine car on the side of one of the boxes, a caboose on the side of another box and different train cars on the remaining boxes.
Explain to the children that each box car carries certain items.
Invite the children to help to decide what type of items each car should carry.(Offer the children some suggestions like one of the cars could carry toy items and another car could carry books.)
Instruct the children to go around the room and gather items they think belong in each of the train cars.
