Pinecone Chick

Materials Needed:

Large yellow pom-poms/yellow cotton balls
10/11 mm Wiggly eyes
Orange construction paper
Yellow spray paint
Pinecones

Template

What to Do:

Using template, trace/copy beaks onto orange construction paper then cut them out.
Spray paint pinecones yellow. (Adult should do this.)
If using pom-poms, cut them in half and pull "fluff" apart. If using cotton balls, just pull apart.
Instruct children to:

- Stuff "fluff" into pinecone using finger or the eraser end of pencil.
- Glue wiggly eyes onto front of pinecone near the top.
- Fold beak in half and then glue beak below eyes.
