Will it Move?

Materials Needed:

Craft sticks
Poster board
Glue
Items of different weights and sizes
Crayons, markers, stickers, etc... (to decorate fans)

What to Do:

Cut out fan shapes from the poster board.
Invite the children to decorate their fans.
Glue poster board fans to craft sticks.
Place several objects of different weights and sizes (e.g. feather, block, paper, rock, leaf, shoe) on a table.
Instruct the children to take turns trying to move the objects by fanning them with their fans.
After all the children have had a turn, start a discussion on why some objects moved and others did not.
