The Effects of a Greenhouse

Materials Needed:
Image1 Rectangular cake pan
Image1 Grass seed
Image1 Potting soil
Image1 Clear plastic cup
Image1 Spray bottle
Image1 Water

What to Do:
Image1 Pour potting soil into the pan.
Image1 Plant some grass seed on top of the soil.
Image1 Using the spray bottle, water the soil lightly.
Image1 Place the plastic cup upside down on top of the soil.
Image1 Place the pan in sunlight.
Image1 Water the soil as necessary.
Image1 Challenge the children to guess if the grass will grow under the cup, and if so will it grow faster or slower than the rest of the grass in the pan.
