Hydroponics Gardening

Materials Needed:
Image1 Liquid plant food (Keep out of reach of the children)
Image1 Water
Image1 Clear plastic cups
Image1 Cardboard circles (slightly larger than top of cup)
Image1 Plants (approximately 4 inches tall)
Image1 Cotton

What to Do:
Image1 Mix the liquid plant food according to the directions on container. (An adult should do this step.)
Image1 Cut out a small circle (approximately 1 cm), in the center of the cardboard circle.
Image1 Insert the roots through the hole in the cardboard circle.
Image1 Wrap a piece of cotton around the stem of each plant. The cotton will help to secure the plant and keep it from slipping through the hole in the cardboard circle.
Image1 Pour the plant solution into the cup and submerge the plant roots into the solution by placing the cardboard circle on top of the cup. (As solution evaporates, replace with more solution.)
Image1 Place the cup in an area that has indirect sunlight.
