Water Conservation

Materials Needed:
Wide mouthed plastic containers (several)
Ruler
Permanent Marker

What to Do:
Talk to the children about the importance of not wasting our natural resources and ways we can conserve them.
Using a ruler and a permanent marker make inch markings on the containers. This will be used to measure the collected rain water.
Have the children place the containers around the playground. (Make sure to place them in areas out of the way so they won't be tripped over or kicked.)
After it has rained, have the children bring the containers into the classroom to measure and record the amount of rain collected.

*Use the rainwater to water plants in the classroom and throughout the school.
