Rock Sorting

Materials Needed:
Cardboard shoebox (with lid)
Sharp scissors/X-Acto knife (Adult use only)
Rocks (various sizes)
Container (to hold the rocks)

What to Do:
Find many rocks of different sizes.
Place rocks into a container.
Trace 4-5 different size circles onto shoebox lid.
Cut out the circles.
Place the lid back onto the shoebox.
Invite the children to take turns pushing the rocks through the hole they think is the closest in size to the size of the rock.
