Number Writing on Coin Rubbings

Materials Needed:

Lightweight paper
Tape
Crayons
Several different coins

What to Do:

Roll small pieces of tape, sticky side out, and place them on the backs of the coins.
Stick the coins to a table top.
Have each child take turns placing a piece of lightweight paper over the coins and rubbing the paper with his/her crayon.
When they have finished with their coin rubbings, help them write the number that matches the denomination next to each of the coin rubbings.
