Same Sounds

Same Sounds

Materials Needed:

Partition (approximately 3x2 foot) (a tabletop felt board or magnetic board work well)
Several pairs of items that you can use to make noise (e.g. bells, keys, horns, small drums, whistles, rice in film canisters, paper to crumble)

What to Do:

Place one of each item on both sides of the partition.
Instruct one child to sit on one side of the partition and another child on the other side of the partition.
Invite children to take turns making sounds with one of the items while the other child tries to guess which item made the sound. Instead of verbally guessing the item that made the sound, instruct children to echo the sound by making noise with the item they think is the same one on their side of the partition.
