Camping Safety

Materials Needed:

Backpack
Camping gear (i.e. a sleeping bag, tent, flashlight, first aid kit, food, battery operated lantern, camping cookware, etc.)

What To Do:

Bring a backpack into the classroom and have camping gear available to pack into it.
Talk to the class about going camping in the woods and brainstorm about the items they will need. (Discuss why they will need them.)
Talk about camping safety. (This could include campfire safety, staying with an adult, wearing life preservers when boating, always carrying a first aid kit, etc.)
