Pulling up Carrots

Materials Needed:
10 to 20 Carrots with green leaf tops
Top soil
Small tote or large dishpan
Garden trowel
Number cards

What to Do:
Plant the carrots in a container full of soil, so that the tops are showing and actually look like they are growing in the container.
Invite the children to take turns choosing a number and then picking that amount of carrots from the "garden".
Instruct children to replant the carrots using the trowel after each turn.
