Sand Drawings

Materials Needed:

Shallow box
Sand or salt
Unsharpened pencils

What to Do:

Place a layer of sand or salt in the bottom of a shallow box.
Invite the children take turns writing numbers or letters in the sand/salt, using their finger or an unsharpened pencil.
Demonstrate to children how easy it is to erase their work by shaking the box gently back and forth.
