Count the Kwanzaa Candles

Materials Needed:
Cardboard rolls (paper towel or gift wrap roll)
 Glue/tape
 Paint (red, green, and black)
 Poster board
 Tissue paper (orange or gold)

What to Do:
 Provide children with six equal sized rolls and one roll approximately 2 inches taller than the other candles.
 Instruct them to paint three green, three red, and the taller one black.
 After the paint has dried, glue or tape the “candles” (tubes) to the posterboard. If you use tape, tape from the inside of the tube so that the tape does not show on the project.
 Invite children to stuff a little bit of gold or orange tissue paper into the top of each tube. This will make the candle flame.
