Jump, Clap, and Spin

Jump, Clap, and Spin

Materials Needed:
  Masking tape
     Shape cut-out (tag board/construction paper/cardstock)
    Tag board (1 sheet)
    Marker
Pictures (1 each of child jumping, spinning, and clapping, etc.)
  CD player and CD's

What to Do:
Cut several squares, triangles, circles, and rectangles out of tag board/construction paper/ cardstock (cut them large enough for child to stand and move on).
Place shapes on floor around the room (tape them down, to prevent slippage).
Using the tag board, draw one of each shape used in game and place a picture of an activity next to each shape (e.g. circle shape with a picture of a child spinning next to it).  This will let the child know what they are suppose to do when they land on a certain shape.
Have the children walk around the room while playing music and when the music is paused, the children stop and do whatever activity is posted on the tag board next to the corresponding shape they are standing on.
