3D Saturn

Materials Needed:
Clear plastic tops (the type used to cover to-go ice cream or slushies)
Paint (yellow, orange, and red)
Glue
Paintbrushes
Tag board
Scissors
Crayons/markers
Glue gun (teacher use only)

What to Do:
Provide each child with two plastic tops.
Mix glue with paint and invite children to paint the insides of the tops in swirls, completely covering the inside.
Cut poster board circles 2 inches larger in diameter than the bottom of the plastic tops.
Instruct the  children to decorate the circles using the crayons/markers so that it resembles Saturn’s rings.
When dry, the teacher should hot glue the painted top to the center of the circle, then turn it over and lining up the rims, hot glue the other top to the other side of the circle.
