3D Saturn

 

Materials Needed:
Image1 Clear plastic tops (the type used to cover to-go ice cream or slushies)
Image1 Paint (yellow, orange, and red)
Image1 Glue
Image1 Paintbrushes
Image1 Tag board
Image1 Scissors
Image1 Crayons/markers
Image1 Glue gun (teacher use only)

 

What to Do:
Image1 Provide each child with two plastic tops.
Image1 Mix glue with paint and invite children to paint the insides of the tops in swirls, completely covering the inside.
Image1 Cut poster board circles 2 inches larger in diameter than the bottom of the plastic tops.
Image1 Instruct the  children to decorate the circles using the crayons/markers so that it resembles Saturn’s rings.
Image1 When dry, the teacher should hot glue the painted top to the center of the circle, then turn it over and lining up the rims, hot glue the other top to the other side of the circle.
