I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly (2)

I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly (2)

Materials Needed:

Copy of the story

Large sweatshirt

Assorted insects and animals  (fly, spider, etc.)

What to Do:

Put on a large sweatshirt

Pass out insects and animals (one per child)

Then the teacher begins reading story.

The child with the fly places the fly into the large sweatshirt that the teacher is wearing (as if the “old lady” was swallowing the fly…)

Story continues in order with each child placing the next animal into the shirt.

While the last child is placing the horse, the teacher says:”I know and old lady who swallowed a horse she’s full of course!”

When the last animal is placed the teacher pretends to burp and the animals come flying out and the teacher says “Excuse me!”
