Loud or Quiet

Materials Needed:

Pie tin

Feather

Cotton Ball

Plastic cup

Pen

Rock

Ping Pong Ball

Bouncy Ball

What to Do:

Invite children to predict whether the items will be loud or quiet and then drop each item to test their predictions.

Sort items into two containers labeled loud and quiet.

Was the class right? What did it sound like when it hit the ground? Which item was the loudest?
