Smooth And Rough Sorting Boxes

Materials Needed:

Boxes (2)

Smooth objects (e.g. marker, smooth ball, smooth rock)

Rough objects (e.g. bumpy rock, scrub pad, Velcro)

Marker

What to Do:

Provide the children with the two boxes and the smooth and rough objects.

Label one box smooth and attach a piece of wax paper or other smooth object to the front of the box.

Label other box rough and attach a piece of sandpaper or other rough object to the front of the box.

Invite the children to sort items by how the items feel.
