Materials Needed:
Cardboard boxes (4)

Markers

Toys from around the room

What to Do:

Decorate one box to look like an engine using markers.

Decorate the next two boxes to look like train cars.

Decorate the last box to look like a caboose.

At group time pick a few children at a time to go and look for items around the room that could go into the “Toy” Train.

Start with the engine and ask two or three children to look for people or animals that they think would be good engineers to drive the train. Pick different categories for each of the train cars. You could categorize by color, size, numbers, letter, centers, etc…
