Picking up the Feathers

Materials Needed:

A couple of balloons (inflated)
Lots of feathers (these can usually be purchased at a local craft or department store)
Brown construction paper
Crayons/markers
Turkey head template
Scissors
Tape

What to Do:

Using turkey head template, trace onto brown construction and cut out.
Using markers/crayons draw eyes, mouth and gaggle onto the turkey head.
Tape the turkey head to the balloon.
Instruct the children to take turns rubbing the balloon on their clothes or head to charge the balloon up with static electricity. Then instruct them to hold the balloon over the feathers and watch what happens!
