Texture Path for Magnetic Mom
Materials Needed:
Shoebox lid
Different textured materials such as: sandpaper, cotton gauze pads, bubble wrap, Styrofoam, corduroy, ceramic tile, corkboard, etc…
Magnet
Film canister
Glue
Craft sticks
Photographs of each childs mother
Play dough

What to Do:
Cover the inside of the shoebox lid with several different textures of materials.
Try to make it in the shape of a path.
Glue a strong magnet to the bottom of the film canister.
Glue a picture of each childs mom to the craft sticks and put a small mound of play dough in the bottom of the film canister. Stick the craft stick into the play dough to hold the stick upright.
Glue a strong magnet to the end portion of one craft stick or tongue depressor.
Use stick with magnet to guide the "mom" down the path by rubbing underneath the lid.
Ask the children if they think some parts of the path are difficult to move their “magnetic mom” over.

*Make sure when gluing the magnets to the film canister and craft stick that the side of the magnets facing up is polar correct so they do not resist each other.
