Time for Tea

Materials Needed:
Construction paper
Black marker
Wallpaper/wrapping paper
Tea bags
Crayons
Glue
Poem inserts
Cup and saucer template
Embellishments (e.g. sequins, stickers, jewels)

What to Do:
Using template, trace cup and saucer onto wallpaper/wrapping paper and cut out.
Using 9x12 inch construction paper, fold paper in ½ to form a card.
Write “Happy Mother’s Day” at top half of card.
Instruct children to:
- Glue cup and saucer onto front cover under the “Happy Mother’s Day” title.
- After glue dries, cut a slit in top of cup approx. 1- 1 ½ inches wide and place tea bag through the slit so the tag is on the outside of the card and the tea bag is on the inside.  Place a piece of tape on inside of card over the string to hold tea bag in place.
- Glue poem insert onto the inside of the card, on the opposite side from the tea bag, in middle of the page.
- Decorate the card using crayons/markers/colored pencils and embellishments.
